PATNA, May 16 -- Barely a week after a major reshuffle of senior IAS and IPS officers, the Bihar government on Friday carried out another round of bureaucratic changes, transferring key officials and reassigning additional charges across multiple departments. According to a notification issued by the general administration department (GAD), K Senthil Kumar (1996-batch IAS), who was additional chief secretary of the sugarcane industry department, has been moved to the labour resources and migrant workers welfare department in the same capacity. He has also been given additional charge of the backward classes and extremely backward classes welfare department. In other changes, B Rajendra (1995-batch IAS), ACS, GAD, has been relieved of his additional responsibilities for the education and sports departments. Vinod Singh Gunjyal (2007-batch IAS), currently serving as chief electoral officer, Bihar, has been given additional charge of the education department. Rajesh Kumar (2001-batch IAS), commissioner of the Kosi division, has been appointed principal secretary of the public health engineering department (PHED). Pankaj Kumar Pal (2002-batch IAS) has been posted as secretary of the road construction department. The government also effected changes at the divisional commissioner level. Munger divisional commissioner Prem Singh Meena has been given additional charge of the Bhagalpur division, while Darbhanga divisional commissioner Himanshu Kumar Rai will additionally look after the Kosi division. Purnea district magistrate Anshul Kumar (2016-batch IAS) has been assigned additional charge as commissioner of the Purnea division. Bhagalpur divisional commissioner Avnish Kumar Singh (2010-batch IAS) has been appointed the secretary-cum-mines commissioner in the mines and geology department. In the chief minister's secretariat, two young IAS officers - Shrikant Kundlik Khandekar (2020-batch) and Gunjan Singh (2020-batch) - have been appointed as joint secretaries. Khandekar was previously deputy development commissioner in Patna, while Gunjan Singh held the same post in Bhojpur. Additionally, rural works department secretary Divesh Sehra has been relieved of all additional charges related to the mines department, and tourism department secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh has been relieved of the additional charge of the science and technology department.
