Anand granted bail, blames Khan Sir for kin's death in Nepal
PATNA, June 16 -- The director of Gyan Bindu Coaching Institute, Roshan Anand, walked out of the Beur Central Jail on Monday after the Patna district and sessions court granted him regular bail in connection with a case related to alleged vandalism at the Khan Global Studies of Faisal Khan alias Khan Sir.
Following his release, Roshan alleged that his brother, Prince Yadav, who was found dead in a Nepal hotel on Saturday, was murdered and demanded a high-level probe into his mysterious death along with a fresh autopsy. He also accused Khan Sir, and R S Prasad, owner of Kishan Cold Storage, of orchestrating his brother's murder.
"I have two demands from the state and Union governments - a CBI inquiry into my brother's murder and a fresh post-mortem examination," Roshan said.
He further alleged financial irregularities, claiming that the son of Khan's landlord had opened a gym worth crores of rupees. "Where did the money come from? He deals in cash. Faisal conspired with the house owner. He has ruined the careers of many teachers and plotted to destroy mine as well. He got me jailed as part of a conspiracy," Roshan alleged.
Questioning alleged political backing, Roshan said, "Which politician is shielding Faisal? He spent crores to get me thrown into jail. I cannot reveal the name, but he has political protection. I do not know whether it is from the government or the Opposition, but he is politically protected."
Roshan also accused the Patna Police of harassment and maintained that his brother had no illness. "My brother was healthy," he said.
"When I was in Patna, why wasn't my brother killed? Faisal Khan is a liar. The statements were forcibly extracted from specific guards - guards who didn't even work for him but for the coaching centre. A narco analysis test should be conducted on him. Khan is the person who first said, 'we are going to shoot'. When the video surfaced, it was revealed that Khan's team fired the bullet. I was arrested in just six hours but Faisal Khan is roaming free. Faisal's guards were plotting to kill him in the jail. The jail administration guarded me," he added.
Earlier, during the hearing, Roshan's counsel Ramakant Sharma, argued that his client was not involved in the incident. The court observed that both individuals are teachers and should engage in healthy competition rather than becoming involved in criminal activities. It advised both sides to maintain professional conduct and focus on their educational responsibilities. "The court has observed that the prosecution's case against Roshan is solely one of conspiracy, he was not present at the scene, and there are no other allegations against him. The court noted that a separate case based on a counter-version was registered by police on June 4, while the incident in question had occurred on June 2," said Ramakant.
The defence argued section 109 of the BNS is non-bailable, its requirements were not made out in the present facts, and the other sections invoked in the FIR were bailable in nature. The defence also submitted that Roshan's previous cases largely related to student protests, including movements linked to Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) and police recruitment examinations, except for one earlier coaching-related dispute in 2021 that was filed by Khan.
The controversy dates back on June 2, when Khan alleged that his institute was attacked by Roshan and his associates. A case was subsequently registered and Roshan was arrested and forwarded to jail. However, CCTV footage reportedly showed only a physical altercation and did not capture any firing. Days later, another CCTV clip surfaced on social media showing security guards allegedly opening fire. Based on the footage, police arrested two guards, who reportedly told investigators they had acted on Khan's instructions.
On June 9, the Patna district and session judge court stayed his arrest.
Prince Yadav, named as an accused in the FIR and the brother of Roshan, was found dead at a hotel in Biratnagar in Nepal. Nepal police had said he was declared dead on arrival at a hospital after complaining of uneasiness, and the cause of death is under investigation. The death of Prince has triggered demands from family members and residents for a detailed probe into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The cousin sister's wedding was going to be held in the family on June 29.
Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav, through a social media post, said a fair and high-level probe should be conducted into the "death or murder" of the brother of the Roshan. He also demanded that the postmortem report be made public soon so that the exact cause of death could be ascertained. In his post, Tejashwi Yadav said that the kind of controversy that has come up in the coaching world is not at all fair. He also questioned the Bihar government's and the police's role in the entire episode, saying the Patna administration's role seems suspicious.
Former health minister Tej Pratap Yadav, made serious allegations against Faisal Khan over the mysterious death of Prince Yadav. Speaking to the newsmen, Tej Pratap said, "There is a conspiracy hatched against Prince while Khan has committed the crime it is clear," he alleged....
