India, Aug. 11 -- Facing an acute shortage of all variants of fertilizers vis-a-vis the requirements, the East Champaran administration seized a whopping 542 bags of fertilizer during a raid late Sunday, taking the tally of seizure to 8,308 across the district after the onset of the kharif season from April 1, 2026, officials said on Monday. The seizure is the part of a series of raids during the ongoing monsoon season. In an official statement, East Champaran police said a raid was carried out at Murtiya village under Adapur police station area and 542 bags of fertilizers were seized. "The bags were stockpiled in a house by Arjun Sah and Sushil Sah in connivance with unidentified persons. They were indulging in black marketing of fertilizers," said an officer....
