4 fake cops arrested doing vehicle checks at Dehri, fake arms seized
SASARAM, Feb. 9 -- Rohtas police arrested four fake cops, including a self-styled police sub-inspector (SI) while doing vehicle checks near Pahleja Power Grid at Dehri on Sunday, police said.
Following an information that some young men wearing police uniform were roaming in the market and stopping and questioning passersby and vehicles, ASP Atulesh Jha rushed to the place with police force.
Two youths were found wearing police uniform and two in plain clothes and loitering near an SUV without a number plate. One of them was wearing a double star uniform of SI and another of a police constable, police said.
Upon questioning the 'SI' identified himself as Shatrughan Kumar (20) and the 'constable' as Rahul Kumar (19) of Shambhu Bigha locality of Dehri. The two in plain clothes were identified as Shashi Kumar (20), of Dehri and Prince Kumar (24) of Narari Khurd in Aurangabad district. They could not provide any satisfactory explanation regarding wearing police uniform, nor did they show any identification related to their work, police said.
The uniform worn by these individuals were found to be genuine and bore Bihar police logo. Two objects made of iron and wood, resembling rifles, five plastic pistols, one pistol made of fibre and iron, two holsters, two sets of combat uniforms, a combat backpack, a fibre stick and a baton were recovered from the SUV. The four persons were arrested and the vehicle and recovered items were seized, police said.
