3 revenue officers suspended amid strike
PATNA, March 19 -- Taking serious note of media statements over the strike, the revenue and land reforms department on Wednesday suspended three senior officers of revenue services. The officers suspended are additional district acquisition officer, Araria, Jitendra Pandey, circle officer, Patna Sadar, Rajnikant, and circle officer of Ghodasahan (E Champaran), Anand Kumar.
Kumar is also president of the Bihar Revenue Service Association (BiRSA), which is spearheading the indefinite strike for their demands, which included implementation of the Patna HC's orders and posting of qualified revenue service officers on the post of deputy collector land reforms (DCLR), which is currently occupied by the officers of Bihar administrative service.
Deputy CM-cum-revenue minister Vijay Kumar Sinha announced the suspension of the officers and added that those indulging in propagating 'misinformation' through media would be dealt with sternly. Contrary to the claims of BiRSA and the united forum of revenue officers, Sinha said that about 50% of the revenue officers have joined their duties....
