3 minor girls rescued in Rohtas distt, three women held: Police
SASARAM, June 10 -- The Rohtas Police rescued three minor girls from a house during an operation in Baban Barehta Tola in Kargahar police station area. Three women kidnappers were also arrested at the scene, police said on Tuesday.
Rohtas Superintendent of Police (SP) Raushan Kumar said that he received credible confidential information indicating that three unidentified little girls were being kept in hiding under suspicious circumstances inside a house at Baban Barehta Tola under Kargahar police station area.
Following immediate verification of the information and recognising the gravity of the situation, a special police team was formed under the leadership of the Dehri Woman Police Station SHO, Umus Salma. Late Sunday night, the team surrounded the target house and launched a surprise raid.
Three suspected women were taken into custody. They belonged to a wanderer community, police said.
Upon a thorough search of the premises, police found three little girls, approximately three years, two years, and one-and-a-half years old.
The women failed to provide a valid explanation for keeping the children and gave contradictory statements, claiming they had found them abandoned in Varanasi, Buxar, and Sasaram. They had also not informed the police about the children. The women were subsequently arrested.
The rescued girls have been safely handed over to a child care centre in adjacent Kaimur district, after completing the necessary legal formalities....
