2K fertiliser bags seized in E Champaran
BETTIAH, July 8 -- A joint team of Jitna police, the 71st Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and officials of district agriculture department raided multiple locations and seized a huge quantity of fertilisers, including urea and DAP (di-ammonium phosphate) during raids in Bihar's East Champaran district on Monday night, officials said.
During the operation, the team also uncovered 200 bags of suspected fake DAP fertiliser from a village along the Indo-Nepal border in the district.
East Champaran's district agriculture officer Manish Kumar Singh said the seizures were made at nine locations at Barharwa, Reganiya, Aathmoham and Bijbani villages under Jitna police station area. "In all, 2,391 bags were seized. The bags were hoarded for cross-border smuggling into Nepal," the district agriculture officer said....
