PATNA, March 1 -- Two women including an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) of the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) were murdered in separate incidents in and around Patna. A 30-year-old woman was strangulated to death allegedly by her husband over a domestic dispute at the East Gola Road, that falls under the Danapur police station limits, late on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Chandni, married to Sonu Kumar Singh three years ago. According to reports, Sonu mercilessly thrashed and strangulated her after a bitter altercation. The murder came to light on Saturday morning when the accused himself informed the police about the incident. The police reached the spot and took him into custody. The accused told the police that on Friday evening he asked his wife to rush to Chhapra (house of victim's in laws ) but she refused. A heated argument ensued between the two and it escalated into a fight. The deceased's sister alleged that Sonu had lost about four lakh rupees in online game. Sonu and his family members often put pressure on her sister for money. The SHO of Danapur police station Prashant Kumar Bhardwaj said that preliminary investigation suggested that the accused first left his two-year-old child at his Chhapra home and after returning at around 2am, he informed his brother-in-law about the incident. In another incident, Sulekha Gupta, a 45-year-old woman, was stabbed to death with a sharp edge weapon inside her house located near Dadarmandi mosque under Alamganj police station area on Saturday noon. On getting information about the incident, DSP Rajkishore Singh and SHO Rahul Kumar Thakur reached the spot and started investigation. Paltu Kumar Gupta, husband of the deceased, said that he had got information from the house that Sulekha had fallen from the rooftop. When he reached home, hey saw that Sulekha was lying in a serious condition. There were severe marks of injury on her neck. He took her to hospital but Sulekha was declared dead. The police are investigating the case....
