2 PLFI activists arrested with 40-kg explosives
PATNA, March 22 -- In a joint operation, STF and Nawada police arrested two active members of People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) from Rajauli police station area, official said on Saturday. They were arrested from Hardia village and police recovered 40-kg explosives, two rifles, 20 rounds of ammunition and other incriminating material from their possession. A senior STF official said the police had received specific information about the presence of two members of the Maoist splinter group. On the basis of information, the STF and Nawada police conducted a joint raid and arrested Dayanand Rajvanshi alias Gurjar alias Pappu and Mithlesh Rajvanshi, residents of Hardia. Interrogation with the accused led to the seizure of illegal firearms and explosive materials from a forest area near Phulwaria Dam. The seized items include two regular rifles of 0.315 bore, 20 live cartridges, one bulletproof plate with tactical gear, one bulletproof headscarf, nine detonators, 40.625 kg of explosives packed in 325 packets and 100 metre cordex wire.
"We have registered a case under Arms Act, Explosive Substance Act and CLA Act, for indulging in Maoist activities," said Nawada SP Abhinav Dhimaan.
This is the second such arms haul from the PLFI in the past one week. Earlier on March 13, the joint team of STF and Nawada police arrested an active member of the PLFI, Ajeet Kumar (31), of Dilwa village in Rajauli, and recovered an AK-47 rifle, two 315-bore rifles, two AK-47 magazines, 21 AK-47 cartridges and 10 additional cartridges for the 315-bore rifles....
