PATNA, Sept. 1 -- Two people were killed in separate incidents under Phulwarisharif and Paliganj police stations in Patna district on Sunday, police said. The first incident occurred around 8.30 am when 31-year-old Mohammad Rizwan, an electrician, was killed with a sharp-edged weapon while sleeping at his house in Bhusaual, Danapur, under Phulwarisharif police station. After committing the crime, the accused locked the room and fled, police further said. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sushil Kumar said Rizwan's wife alleged that her relative Shahwaz and his wife were behind the murder. "Shahwaz has been arrested while his wife is absconding. The motive appears to be a family dispute. Forensic experts have examined the spot," he added. In the second incident, 25-year-old Kundan Paswan was beaten to death by four unidentified criminals at Bahadurganj under Sigori police station late on Saturday night. He succumbed to his injuries at his home on Sunday morning. Following the incident, hundreds of villagers and relatives blocked Pali-Kinjar Road with the body for about two hours, demanding the arrest of the accused and compensation. According to the family, Kundan was returning from the market on Saturday evening when some criminals tried to snatch his mobile phone and money. When he resisted, they assaulted him brutally.
