19,838 new constables to join Bihar police force
PATNA, May 28 -- The final selection list of Bihar Police Constable Recruitment Examination were published on Wednesday. A total 19,838 aspirants, including 7,312 women, 17 transgenders, 332 trained home guards besides 190 kin of freedom fighters, have been selected for joining and they were directed to report to their allotted units between June 20 and July 19.
Out of 19,838 results, the percentage of women has come down significantly compare to the results of such an exam last time. While 52% women were successful last time, it has come down to 36% this time.
More than 1.673 million candidates had applied for 19,838 posts of constables in various wings of the Bihar Police. The CSBC has conducted written exams at 627 centres in six phases between July and August in which 1.330 million aspirants appeared in the exams while 71 of them were found unfit due to various reasons.
Around 99,690 candidates were shortlisted for physical efficiency test (PET) based on the results of the written examination. As many as 79,932 candidates appeared for PET. Among them, 50,477 were men, 29,426 were women and 29 were transgenders.
"Based on performance in PET, candidates were selected for various police roles. Out of these, 16,852 candidates were selected for the Bihar Police, and 2,986 for the Bihar Special Armed Police," said Jitendra Kumar, adding that the CSBC published the list, which can be viewed on the board's website....
