PATNA, April 30 -- An 18-year-old NEET aspirant died allegedly by consuming poison at his hostel in a locality under SK Puri police station, police said on Wednesday. The incident came to light after the hostel warden found him unconscious in his room around 9.30 am on Tuesday. The boy had been staying on the hostel's third floor for the past two years and was preparing for the medical entrance examination at a local coaching institute. Police recovered a "suicide note" addressing his parents in which he allegedly listed his "failure to achieve what he wanted." SK Puri police station SHO Jitendra Rana said, "On information, police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. The team seized a chemical, a suicide note and his cell phone among other items as evidence. An FSL team also conducted an investigation. Probe is underway." A police officer in the know of the matter said preliminary investigation revealed that the boy was last seen around 1 am on Tuesday and he was heard talking to someone on his mobile phone after that.
