GAYAJI, July 5 -- Chief minister Samrat Chaudhary announced the establishment of 100 fast-track courts in Bihar for the speedy disposal of crime-related cases. He stressed better coordination among the judiciary, police and administration to ensure timely and effective justice. While inaugurating the two-day state-level conference on the Integrated Implementation of "New Criminal Laws (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam)" in Bodh Gaya, the CM said that the state's judiciary, police, and administration bear the significant responsibility of delivering justice to approximately 10 percent of the country's population - over 14 crore people. The conference was held under the joint aegis of the Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD) and the Bihar Judicial Academy on Saturday. The CM said that Bihar has always been defined by the principle of "development with justice," and the effective, public-interest-oriented implementation of the new criminal laws will further reinforce this spirit. The CM remarked that justice becomes truly meaningful only when public trust in the judicial system is strengthened. The effective implementation of the new criminal laws will further strengthen the rule of law in Bihar. The government was committed to fully cooperating with the judiciary and emphasised holding regular coordination meetings. The government will provide all necessary resources to further strengthen speedy trials, fast-track courts, and the timely justice delivery system, the CM said. Effective implementation of these new laws requires maximum use of technology and Artificial Intelligence. Modern technology will play a pivotal role in crime control, surveillance, and ensuring speedy justice. Through the "112" emergency service, the police currently reach the scene of an incident within an average of 10 minutes; a target has been set to reduce this response time to 7-8 minutes, he said. A "Sahyog Shivir" will be organised at the state level in Patna on the second Tuesday of every month. It will cater to individuals whose applications were processed at the block level but who remain dissatisfied with the outcome. Their issues will be addressed, and justice ensured, he said.
