'Don't get misled by Oppn, they did nothing for Bihar'
PATNA, Sept. 8 -- Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday cautioned people 'not to get misled by baseless talks' of the Opposition leaders, as the previous governments had done nothing for them.
Speaking at the 'Karyakarta Samvad' at Panchrukhi block of Siwan, where he laid foundation stone of development projects worth Rs.550-crore announced during Pragati Yatra in February, Kumar said when he got the opportunity, he worked and was still working for all sections, while the Centre was also extending a lot of support to take things forward.
He also interacted with Jeevika volunteers, ASHA and MAMTA workers and pension beneficiaries, all of whom have benefited from government's recent announcements, and the party workers.
"The situation before is known to all, when people feared venturing out after dusk. They are speaking a lot of things, but the reality is that they have never done anything. Don't get trapped in their empty rhetoric," he added, highlighting the achievements of the state government to bring about significant improvement in all spheres.
The CM reiterated that he had reached where he had started from. "I committed mistake twice (by joining hands with the RJD), but they started doing wrong and I had to pull back. Now we are together and we will always stay together," he added.
Kumar said he had committed 50-lakh jobs and employment opportunities and it would cross that mark.
"The state government has already created 39 lakh job opportunities and with regular recruitment, exceeded the target of 10 lakh jobs," he added.
Kumar has been on the move ahead of elections to begin work on all the projects announced by him during his Pragati yatra earlier this year duly approved by his cabinet.
On Thursday, he had laid the foundation stone work for 27 development projects worth Rs.1,203.81 crore in Saran district. Before that he had laid foundation stone of development projects worth Rs.900-crore in Gaya.
The CM's two-month Pragati Yatra, which started on December 23 and ended on February 21, had witnessed inaugurating and foundation stone of projects worth around Rs.21,000-crore and announcement of new projects and schemes worth Rs.50,000-crore, which are now being implemented....
