car rams parked truck in south delhi, 36-yr-old passenger dead
New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- A 36-year-old man died after the SUV he was in rammed a stationary 14-wheeler truck on Mathura Road near the Sarita Vihar flyover in south Delhi early Wednesday, police said.
According to police, the SUV, a Jeep Compass, was being driven by Divyanshu Juneja, who is currently at large. There were three occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Juneja has been booked for rash and negligent driving, though his age is yet to be confirmed.
Police identified the deceased as Satbir Singh, employed as a driver for a family in south Delhi's Panchsheel Park. While Singh's relatives alleged that Juneja is the employer's son, police said they were still verifying his profile.
DCP (southeast) Hemant Tiwari said Sarita Vihar police station received a call at 2.20am. "In the collision, Singh, seated on the front passenger seat, sustained injuries and died at a hospital. The third occupant, Rajeev Sharma, is also a driver. It is not clear if he was injured."...
