Noida, July 31 -- A 19-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday after a CCTV clip showing him allegedly abducting a 16-year-old girl outside her school in Noida went viral on social media, police said. The incident took place at 6.45am in Sector 53 and was witnessed by a shopkeeper who alerted the school administration. Police were then informed via the 112 emergency helpline. The 24-second footage shows the man pulling the girl into a white Toyota Glanza after a brief exchange of words. She appears to resist before being forced into the car. Her friend, who was present, walked away as the man confronted them, police said. "With the help of electronic surveillance and informers, the suspect was arrested near his home, and the minor was recovered safely," said station house officer (SHO) Vidhyut Goel of the Sector 24 police station. Goel added that the suspect, a Class 12 student living in Sector 63, had previously studied at the same school as the girl. "They had been friends for the last three years. About a year ago, the boy was rusticated from school due to short attendance and behaviour," he said. Police said the girl's family did not lodge a complaint. "It was a shopkeeper who noticed the incident and informed the school. The school checked the CCTV footage and called police. A case under Section 137(2) (kidnapping) of BNS was registered," said an officer, requesting anonymity. Police also said she had previously left home with the same man, but no case was filed....
