trainer veers off baramati airport runway during flight exercise
Pune, Aug. 10 -- A private training aircraft veered off the runway at Baramati Airport on Sunday during a flying exercise, the civil aviation ministry said on Sunday. No one was injured in the incident.
This is the third aircraft accident at Baramati this year since former Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar's plane crash in January.
The flight was under the command of Capt. Chirag Shashikant Doifode, the flight instructor along with trainee Abhijeet Jundre, the ministry said. The aircraft was unable to stop within the paved runway surface and "veered off the extended paved surface beyond the threshold of Runway 29, resulting in a runway excursion".
