Mumbai, May 10 -- A 20-year-old tempo driver has been arrested after he allegedly accidentally ran over and killed his father at a BMC parking lot in Marol, Andheri East, on May 5. The accused, identified as Shubham Yadav, was later released on bail after a case was registered against him under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for causing death by negligence and rash driving. According to police, the victim, Ramdin Yadav, 46, was guiding his son while parking a six-wheeler tempo at the Vasant Oasis parking lot on Makwana Road. While manoeuvring the vehicle, Shubham allegedly accidentally pressed the accelerator, causing the tempo to lurch forward and hit his father. The rear wheel of the vehicle then ran over Ramdin Yadav, leaving him with fatal injuries. The police said they found out about the accident from the Western Control Room at around 4.37 pm while patrolling in the area. Upon arrival, officers found Ramdin Yadav lying unconscious between two pillars in the parking area with severe head injuries. Police said Shubham was sitting beside his injured father in shock.
