India, Aug. 12 -- Self-enumeration for the second phase of Census 2027 will begin in Ladakh and 16 snow-bound districts of Jammu and Kashmir on August 17, officials said on Tuesday. Self-enumeration will be open from August 17 to 31, after which house-to-house population enumeration will be conducted from September 1 to 30 in Ladakh and some snow-bound areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, chief principal census officer and director, census operations, J&K and Ladakh, Amit Sharma, said. "Ladakh will be the first state or UT in the country where this exercise will be completed 100%...," he said.
