India, Aug. 18 -- The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to examine the plea filed by government's construction arm NBCC India Limited seeking exemptions under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA) for completion of the insolvency-ridden Supertech projects. A bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant issued notice on NBCC's plea challenging the May 22 order of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) refusing to grant such an exemption. The tribunal had also turned down the plea for enhanced fees on sale of the unfinished flats in 16 Supertech projects taken over by NBCC in December 2024.
