MUMBAI, July 16 -- After heavy downpours in the city that began on Tuesday morning, the IMD, at about 1pm on Tuesday, sounded an orange alert, which indicates heavy to very heavy rains, in Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, and Pune. The few hours of rain led to waterlogging in many areas including Saki Naka and Ghatkopar East. Drains in Saki Naka had been choked by garbage during the heavy rains in May.
