Bengaluru, April 28 -- A special NIA court in Bengaluru on Monday sentenced the prime accused in the Mangaluru cooker bomb case to 10 years imprisonment, with Rs.94,000 fine.
Mohamed Shariq had initially claimed innocence, but later pleaded guilty in December 2025. According to the prosecution, on November 19, 2022, Shariq was carrying the cooker IED (improvised explosive device) in an auto, and planned to plant it to spread terror.
