MUMBAI, Aug. 2 -- On Saturday, a special NIA court framed charges against 10 accused in the 2021 Antilia explosives scare and Thane-based trader Mansukh Hiran's murder case, clearing the path for trial. The accused include former police officers Sachin Waze, Pradeep Sharma, Rayazuddin Kazi and Sunil Mane, and former constable Vinayak Shinde, and five private individuals. All 10 accused pleaded "not guilty" before special Judge Chakor S Bawiskar. An abandoned green Mahindra Scorpio containing 20 gelatin sticks and a threat letter was found near billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani's Mumbai residence, Antilia, on Carmichael Road in south Mumbai on February 25, 2021. It is linked to the subsequent murder of the SUV's owner, Hiran, whose body was recovered from a creek on March 5, 2021. The prosecution has charged the individuals under the Indian Penal Code, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, and the Explosive Substances Act.
