India, June 26 -- The Kuki Zo Council (KZC) - apex body of Kuki Zo in Manipur - on Thursday acknowledged and expressed regret over the killing of six Naga hostages this month, asserting that it was "neither authorised nor approved by any Kuki-Zo political or community leadership". The body has also called for a probe into all acts of violence linked to the ongoing ethnic strife in Manipur. On May 13, 48 Kukis and Nagas were abducted by militant groups of the two communities in Manipur; while 42 were released subsequently, security personnel on June 10 discovered the bodies of six Nagas.
