Mumbai, Aug. 22 -- Around 100 hectares of forest land in Palghar district may have to make way for a stone quarry for the construction of the Vadhavan port, according to a top official of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), which is jointly constructing the port with the Maharashtra Maritime Board. On Wednesday, the forest department issued a government resolution (GR) allowing the JNPA to conduct geo-technical survey on 295.23 hectares of densely forested land.
