PUNE, Sept. 8 -- Police investigating the Ketan Agarwal murder case say the suspected killers of the young realtor appear to have considered outsourcing the murder but had dropped the idea. This has emerged after they questioned Ritesh Hange, the third suspect arrested in the high-profile murder. Ketan Agarwal, the 26-year-old businessman, was allegedly pushed off a cliff at Pune's Lohagad Fort by his fiancee Siya Goyal and her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary on June 18. Investigators said Hange, arrested on Friday night, was allegedly aware of the conspiracy and was a part of discussions surrounding the murder plot, police said. They also said Goyal, Chaudhary and Hange had discussed the possibility of hiring someone else to carry out the killing and had even made inquiries in this regard. "Hange was arrested after investigators found he had knowledge of the murder plan, was involved in its planning and did not inform the police about it," said Pune rural superintendent of police Sandeep Singh Gill. Police said on Monday that soon after the murder, Chaudhary met his friend Hange and told him about the incident. 'Chaudhary phoned Hange after the murder and the two decided to meet in Pune. During that meeting, Chaudhary explained how he had executed the plan and killed Ketan," Gill said. Hange, who works in the private real estate sector, was also aware of an earlier plan to get rid of Agarwal and had discussed ways to murder him with Chaudhary, police said.. Hange's role came to light during the examination of digital evidence. Investigators recovered deleted WhatsApp conversations between Hange and Chaudhary, which allegedly contained information relating to the murder conspiracy. Police are examining the chats and other digital evidence to establish the exact nature of his involvement. Goyal and Chaudhary, who had kept their relationship secret until they were arrested, are in judicial custody. Hange has been booked under Section 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Investigators are now examining whether others were aware of the conspiracy. They are also trying to determine why the accused allegedly considered hiring an outsider and how far that plan had unfolded before Agarwal was allegedly killed at Lohagad Fort....
