THANE, Oct. 1 -- Police have arrested Prakash alias Papya Shinde, a former aide of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Pradeep Purnekar, in connection with his murder in Thane on Tuesday. Purnekar was shot dead by four assailants inside his office. Shinde was present during the attack and took Purnekar to hospital, but police suspected his involvement after finding he was unhurt despite four to five bullets being fired. Investigators also alleged that Shinde conducted a recce of Purnekar's office a day before the shooting.
