SOLAPUR, Sept. 28 -- On Friday, as flood waters eased in Wadalbal village (and many others), in Solapur district, villagers made plans to return home from their makeshift shelters. But the forecast of heavy rain till the end of the month has dashed their hopes. The situation is mirrored in over 53 villages in the district. Solapur has received 602 mm of rainfall against the June to September average of 481 mm, 125% higher than average.
