Mumbai, Oct. 10 -- Five of India's 10 busiest railway stations for long-distance trains are in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), all on the Central Railway network, railway data has revealed. Thane topped the national rankings with 93 million passengers, followed by Kalyan at 83.7 million. CSMT ranked fourth with 51.6 million passengers, Panvel sixth with 46.2 million, and Dadar ninth with 32.2 million. Together, these stations handled 306.7 million passengers annually, averaging around 840,000 passengers daily.
