MUMBAI, June 2 -- The BMC could extend the coastal road promenade and cycle track from Lotus Jetty to Samudra Mahal in Worli. Currently, the promenade and track run from Priyadarshini Park and end at Lotus Jetty. The proposed extension, which would cost Rs.9.9 crore, would offer direct access to residents of buildings like Samudra Mahal, Poonam Chambers, Shiva Sagar Estate and Lala Lajpatrai College. The extension would also connect the Coastal Road to a proposed police station and fire station being built at Samudra Mahal building at Worli. It will be about 320 metres long and 8 m wide. This proposed expansion comes at a time when the BMC is completing the final phase of the Mumbai Coastal Road (South).
