Hyderabad, Sept. 20 -- The Enforcement Directorate has arrested a promoter with an Uttar Pradesh-based food firm in connection with the alleged supply of adulterated ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for the preparation of the sacred "laddu prasadam", officials said on Saturday. A statement from ED's Hyderabad zonal office said that Kailash Chand Mangla, a promoter at Sukriti Foods Private Limited in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad, was arrested on Wednesday and sent to 14-day judicial custody on Friday. The arrest was made under Section 19 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, the agency said.
