Dhaka, Aug. 4 -- Bangladesh's International Crimes Tribunal on Sunday began the trial of deposed PM Sheikh Hasina in absentia over crimes against humanity related to the violent suppression of the 2024 student-led protests, with interim government-appointed chief prosecutor, Tajul Islam, describing Hasina as the "nucleus of all crimes", calling for the maximum penalty.
