7-yr-old fatally electrocuted in Dombivli east
MUMBAI, March 18 -- A seven-year-old boy died after being electrocuted while playing near his house in Dombivli East on Tuesday, police said, raising concerns over safety around electrical installations in residential areas.
The victim, Krishna Sanjay Yadav, came into contact with a live roadside feeder box installed by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) in the Jijau Nagar area of Gograswadi.
Police said the incident occurred when Yadav was playing with friends and his ball rolled near the feeder box.
While trying to retrieve it, he accidentally touched the installation and suffered a severe electric shock, collapsing on the spot.
He was rushed by locals to a nearby hospital in the Star Colony area, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Residents expressed grief over the incident and flagged possible safety lapses, questioning whether adequate precautions were in place around the electrical equipment.
The boy's family has not alleged foul play, and no complaint has been filed, police said.
An accidental death report (ADR) has been registered at Tilaknagar police station, and officials are probing whether proper safety measures were in place around the electrical installation....
