Thane, July 10 -- A 64-year-old man who suffered severe head injuries after a tree collapsed on him outside the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Thane on Monday died in hospital on Thursday after battling for life for three days. Pandurang Buvad, a resident of Dharmveer Nagar, had taken shelter under a tree outside the Thane RTO during heavy rain, when it suddenly collapsed and fell on him. He suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where he underwent brain surgery. "Doctors had initially said that Buvad was critical and needed to be monitored for at least 48 hours.
