12 named in Nesco deaths charge sheet
MUMBAI, July 11 -- The Vanrai police have filed a 3,500-page charge sheet against 12 accused in connection with the suspected drug-overdose deaths during a concert at NESCO Centre in Goregaon.
Two management students had died during a music concert at the NESCO Centre on April 11.
The charge sheet has named 110 witness, including classmates of the deceased who had attended the concert, titled the '999999999 hard acid techno rave', which was part of an 'Acid Storm' India tour.
"We have named the management of the concert, security guards who allowed illegal entry and the drug peddlers, as accused," said a police officer. He said two suspects are at large, including the main suppliers of the narcotic pills.
The April 11 concert was attended by around 3,000 people. Shreya Rai, 24, and Bismat Singh Amarjit Singh Bhasin, 28, of a South Mumbai-based management college died after taking ill at the event. They were taken to a trauma hospital and later to Bombay Hospital. Rai died while being treated there, and Bhasin died at the Lifeline Medicare Hospital.
Aayush Sahitya, an Ulhasnagar resident, had bribed the bouncers and security guards, who had allowed him to enter the concert venue....
