LUCKNOW, Aug. 26 -- A 25-year-old man died after coming in contact with a high-tension electricity line while he was on the roof of a house in Karimabad village under Kakori police station on Tuesday morning. The deceased was identified as Kamil, son of Ramzan, a resident of Unnao. He had been staying at his sister's house in Karimabad, police said. Kakori SHO Satish Chandra said the high-tension wire passed very close to the rooftop. Kamil was apparently unaware of the wire when he went onto the roof and accidentally came in contact with it. The incident took place around 7am, according to information available from the family. Kamil suffered severe electric shock and died at the spot. The incident triggered panic in the area, following which police reached the house. Residents alleged that the electricity line had been passing dangerously close to the roof for a long time and questioned the electricity department over the lack of adequate safety measures. They demanded that the high-tension line be shifted to a safer distance to prevent similar accidents. Police initiated legal proceedings after reaching the spot. The family, however, refused to have Kamil's body sent for postmortem.htc...
