lucknow, July 26 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will launch the Chief Minister's Teachers' Cashless Medical Facility Scheme in Agra on Sunday, extending annual cashless health coverage of up to Rs.5 lakh to more than 1.28 lakh teachers in state universities and colleges, along with their dependent family members, a spokesperson said. The scheme will benefit teachers serving in state universities, government-aided colleges, self-financed courses, and self-financed colleges. Eligible beneficiaries and their dependent families will be able to avail cashless treatment at empanelled government and private hospitals across the state. According to a government spokesperson, the initiative aims to address the lack of a medical reimbursement mechanism for higher education teachers, who currently bear treatment expenses on their own. The new system is expected to provide timely healthcare along with financial protection. Each eligible family will receive health coverage of up to Rs.5 lakh annually, with benefits becoming available from the day the health card is issued. The scheme will cover expenses related to hospital admission, treatment, medicines, and discharge. The facility will provide access to more than 1,900 treatment packages at empanelled hospitals, including treatment for cancer, heart disease, kidney ailments, and other complex surgeries. It will be administered through SACHIS, while treatment rates prescribed under Ayushman Bharat will be applicable. Under the MoU, beneficiaries will receive personal accident insurance of up to Rs.1.5 crore, air accident insurance of up to Rs.3 crore, hospital cash benefits of up to Rs.60,000, and term life insurance of up to Rs.12 lakh, according to the government....
