Yellow alert sounded for Lucknow, 54 other dists
LUCKNOW, June 10 -- There is a high probability of rain with gusty winds (speed 50-60 km/h) in 14 districts of West UP, on Thursday, with the Regional Meteorological Centre, Lucknow issuing an orange alert for them. These include Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Budaun, and adjoining areas.
A yellow alert has been sounded for 55 districts where there is high probability of thunderstorms and lightning in Lucknow, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Ayodhya, and surrounding areas. A heatwave warning was issued for Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur, and surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon has advanced into the remaining parts of northeastern states, entire Sikkim and some parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal on Tuesday.
