Women top joint BEd entrance merit
LUCKNOW, June 17 -- Women dominated the top 10 merit list for the state-level Joint BEd Entrance Examination-2026, conducted by Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, when results were announced on Tuesday. Women secured four of the top five ranks, all from science backgrounds, while claiming six of the top 10 positions overall.
Vandana Singh from Aligarh district secured the first position in the state, Nitin Pachauri from Aligarh and Khushi Ajay Mishra from Jaunpur secured the second and third positions, respectively, said Bundelkhand University vice-chancellor Prof Mukesh Pandey while briefing the press.
UP higher education minister, Yogendra Upadhyay and higher education minister of state Rajni Tiwari jointly announced the results at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, Lucknow and interacted with the toppers via video call to extend congratulations and inquire about their future plans. A total of 4,44,958 candidates were registered for the BEd Entrance exam, of which 4,00,499 candidates appeared in the first shift, and 4,00,756 appeared in the second shift.
The university conducted the exam on May 31 across 1,011 centers in 72 districts of the state.htc...
