LUCKNOW, Sept. 23 -- Getting a driving licence in the state capital could now take more time and cost more for applicants who fail the driving test twice under a new procedure being implemented after the launch of the Accredited Driver Training Centre (ADTC) in Kakori on September 14, according to ARTO (administration) Pradeep Singh. Applicants failing twice will have to enrol for a mandatory weeklong course and pay Rs.6,000 before they can be eligible for another assessment and a permanent driving licence. The course will include 21 hours of classroom training and eight hours of practical driving with emphasis on basic manoeuvres.
