VNN steps up fight against open urination
VARANASI, Dec. 17 -- The Varanasi Nagar Nigam (VNN) has intensified its campaign to beautify 110 identified "yellow spots" across the city, urging people not to urinate in public places.
The "yellow spots" refer to open areas and street corners where people often urinate and litter.
The VNN administration has deployed sanitation teams, and concerned officials are taking action to beautify these locations. Beautification work has already begun at the identified spots to improve their appearance and prevent further littering, said VNN public relations officer Sandeep Srivastava.
Along with municipal sanitation workers, awareness teams are also being deployed to educate people about the hazards of open urination.
The VNN has entrusted three IEC (Information, Education and Communication) organisations with the responsibility of conducting awareness campaigns. During the drive, violators will be issued warnings and fined, the VNN said.htc...
