Vegetable trader killed after tractor-trolley hits bike in Meerut
Meerut, July 1 -- A 40-year-old vegetable trader from Mawana was killed in a gruesome road accident late Monday night after a garbage-laden tractor-trolley rammed into his motorcycle near the Kali river bridge on the Daurala-Masuri Road in Meerut.
The impact left the victim trapped beneath the vehicle, which allegedly dragged him and his motorcycle for nearly 100 metres before overturning into a roadside ditch. He died on the spot, while the driver fled the scene.
The deceased was identified as Kuldeep Saini, a resident of Mawana and a commission agent at the Mawana vegetable market. The driver reportedly escaped under the cover of darkness before police arrived. A search has been launched to trace and arrest the absconding driver. Daurala circle officer Prakash Chandra Agrawal said an FIR will be registered on the basis of complaint from the victim's family. htc...
