Lucknow, Dec. 16 -- A 48-year-old constable of the Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force (UPSSF) died after a speeding car hit his bicycle in Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow late on Sunday night, police said on Monday. The deceased was identified as Akhilesh Chaubey, a resident of Salempur in Deoria district. He was posted at the security battalion located in Srijan Vihar, Gomti Nagar. According to police, Chaubey was returning after dinner and was cycling towards his unit. As he reached gate number one of Srijan Vihar, a car coming from behind rammed into his bicycle. Chaubey suffered serious head injuries. Security personnel deployed at the gate apprehended the car driver and handed him over to the police.
