LUCKNOW, July 15 -- The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) on Tuesday declared the final result for the direct recruitment of 4,543 sub-inspectors of Civil Police and equivalent posts, concluding one of the state's largest police recruitment exercises. According to UPPRPB director general and chairman S.B. Shiradkar, candidates who successfully cleared the written examination, document verification, physical standard test (PST) and physical efficiency test (PET) have been declared successful. The final merit list has been prepared on the basis of candidates' normalised written examination scores, merit ranking, and the applicable vertical and horizontal reservation norms. The recruitment drive witnessed an overwhelming response, with 15,75,760 candidates applying for the posts. The written examination was conducted on March 14 and 15, 2026. The board has uploaded the consolidated post-wise and category-wise selection lists on its official website. Candidates can check their final selection status through the result link available on the UPPRPB portal. Shiradkar said that candidates who appeared in the written examination will be able to access their normalised scores through a dedicated link on the board's website from July 22.
