Lucknow, June 8 -- Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has set a target of developing more than 2 GW of additional data centre capacity in Uttar Pradesh by 2030, stressing that data, artificial intelligence (AI) and digital infrastructure will drive the future economy. Reviewing the Uttar Pradesh Data Center Policy-2021 on Sunday, the CM directed officials to prepare a more investor-friendly policy with a focus on AI-enabled, energy-efficient and green data centres, along with faster approvals, reliable power supply and better connectivity. Officials informed the meeting that UP is expected to account for 8-9% of India's data centre capacity by 2026. So far, investment proposals worth Rs.21,342 crore have been approved under the existing policy. Six data centre parks and two standalone units are operational, while projects with a committed capacity of 644 MW are under development.
