LUCKNOW, Feb. 28 -- Acting on directions from the police headquarters, the UP Police has launched a special statewide opeartion titled "Operation Dahan" for the time-bound destruction and disposal of seized narcotic substances, according to a press note issued from the police headquarters on Friday. The operation will run from March 1 to May 31, 2026, and is aimed at ensuring the lawful disposal of illegally seized narcotics across the state after obtaining due permission from the competent courts.
