UP Police launch cyber fraud mitigation centre
LUCKNOW, June 2 -- In a major push to strengthen the state's response to cyber financial crimes, Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday launched a fully operational Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre (CFMC) and an upgraded Standalone 2.0 centre for the national cybercrime helpline 1930 on the Police Lines campus in Kalli Paschim, Lucknow.
Rajeev Krishna, state DGP, launched the facilities in the presence of BK Singh, DG, cybercrime. The launch marks a significant expansion of the state's cybercrime response infrastructure aimed at ensuring faster intervention in financial fraud cases and improving the chances of recovering defrauded funds.
Pankaj Kumar, regional director, Reserve Bank of India, inaugurated the centre. Shailendra Kumar Singh, Bank of Baroda GM and State Level Bankers' Committee convenor was also present.
Addressing the gathering, DGP Rajeev Krishna said that the UP Police established an initial 30-seat cyber call centre and a pilot cyber fraud mitigation centre at the cyber headquarters nearly 10 months ago. The facilities significantly enhanced the state's ability to receive complaints and coordinate action against cyber fraudsters.
"With the growing volume of cybercrime complaints, there was a need to further enhance our response capacity. The new facility includes an additional 30-seat cyber call centre and fully developed cyber fraud mitigation centre, enabling faster and more coordinated action," he said. htc...
