UP plans new maternal safety scheme
LUCKNOW, May 7 -- In a bid to reduce the maternal mortality rate (MMR) in UP, the State Transformation Commission (STC) has drafted a new initiative focused on improving safe delivery services and addressing ground-level healthcare gaps. Sharing details of the proposed 'Mukhya Mantri Matritva Suraksha Yojna', STC chief executive officer Manoj Singh said the scheme aims to improve access to quality healthcare during pregnancy and ensure safer deliveries. "The idea is to strengthen linkages between pregnant women and well-equipped healthcare centres, especially medical colleges. The focus is on better utilisation of facilities available at medical colleges across the state," Singh said.htc...
