Lucknow, Feb. 11 -- The Uttar Pradesh government informed the Vidhan Parishad on Tuesday that the state had received massive investment proposals through a series of investor summits and ground breaking ceremonies held over the years. In a reply during the Question Hour, Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi', minister of industrial and infrastructure development, said that the state government organised Investor Summit-2018, during which 1,045 industrial units signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) involving proposed investments of Rs 4.28 lakh crore. Subsequently, in 2023, the government organised the Global Investors Summit-2023, where 19,250 industrial units signed MoUs amounting to Rs 33.50 lakh crore. The government further stated that investments facilitated through continuous ground breaking ceremonies (GBCs) had shown steady growth. During GBC-1, a total of 81 projects involving investments of Rs 61,792 crore were launched. GBC-2 saw 290 projects with investments of Rs 67,202 crore, while GBC-3 covered 1,406 projects worth Rs 80,224 crore. The fourth edition, GBC-4, marked a major jump with 14,701 projects involving investments of Rs 10,01,056 crore, the minister said. In all, the ground-breaking ceremonies of 16,478 industrial units have been held so far and 6,352 projects of the projects operational have given employment to over 3.91 lakh people. htc...
