KANPUR, June 13 -- A 28-year-old undertrial prisoner allegedly died by suicide inside the Banda divisional jail on Friday, jail officials said. The inmate, Abhishek Singh, a resident of Arkhan Purwa under Atarra police station in Banda district, was found hanging from a towel tied inside a gas godown on the jail premises. He had been lodged in jail in connection with a kidnapping and sexual assault case registered under the POCSO Act.
